About the event

We are excited to announce that the Silent Reading Club, initiated by Limestone Books, is now collaborating with de Fabriek to host a series of events in Eindhoven. In addition to reading, we are introducing artist interventions into Silent Reading, inviting artists to engage with the act of reading and to celebrate togetherness through an artistic lens.

About We do the Reading Voices

In this "silent" reading workshop, we will investigate the relationship between language, sound and collective enunciation while reading together. Bearing in mind traditions of oral storytelling, orchestral composition, operatic traditions, and sonic notation, artist and writer Samuel Brzeski will introduce several techniques for sounding out texts, both internally and externally. We will conduct the group session in English, but we encourage you to bring reading material in any languages you speak. Variety is encouraged.

About Samuel Brzeski
Samuel Brzeski is an artist, writer and publisher working with language as raw material—moulding, stretching and transforming texts on screens, on the page and through sound. With a strong focus on the fluctuations of the spoken word, he highlights the malleable and unstable essence of language: a social medium that is in a constant state of redefinition by its users. Exhibitions and performances include Kunsthall 3,14 (Bergen), The Norwegian National Museum (Oslo), Lydgalleriet (Bergen), Pachinko (Oslo), Bærum Kunsthall, bb15 (Linz), Meta.Morf Biennale (Trondheim), and Black Box Theatre (Oslo). Residencies include Maumaus ISP (Lisbon), CAS Art Writing Residency (Stavanger), Bas Fisher Invitational (Miami) and Creative Europe Oscillations Program. Samuel runs Vibrational Semantics Press, publishing texts, scores, books and soundworks from artists, writers and musicians who work with voice and language. In 2025, Samuel is a participant in the Jan van Eyck Academie residency program.
